Interstate coordination meeting held in Delhi
NEW DELHI: An interstate coordination meeting was held in Delhi at the initiative of Delhi Police, aimed to share intelligence and inputs about criminal gangs and their designs as also for strengthening cooperation and coordination in taking action against manufacturing, supply and sale of firearms, liquor and drug-trafficking.
According to police, Special Csp/traffic, Crime, Law and Order, Special Cell, Intelligence and Joint CSP Ranges and Traffic from Delhi Police were also present in the meeting.
Police claimed that it was stressed upon to take joint action against interstate criminals by sharing of information of their activities as such exercise would certainly help in keeping surveillance over the interstate criminals involved in trafficking of drugs and proliferation of firearms. The police officers stressed upon exchanging information at senior levels in sensitive matters in advance to make the operations successful.
"It was decided for conducting integrated checking on a regular basis with a focus, particularly on criminals, moving around with firearms, sharing and collection of intelligence about active criminals, jail release, identifying the persons involved in selling of drugs/illicit liquor and firearms in their areas and taking appropriate legal action against them," police said.
