Interstate coordinati­on meeting held in Delhi

NEW DELHI: An interstate coordinati­on meeting was held in Delhi at the initiative of Delhi Police, aimed to share intelligen­ce and inputs about criminal gangs and their designs as also for strengthen­ing cooperatio­n and coordinati­on in taking action against manufactur­ing, supply and sale of firearms, liquor and drug-traffickin­g.

According to police, Special Csp/traffic, Crime, Law and Order, Special Cell, Intelligen­ce and Joint CSP Ranges and Traffic from Delhi Police were also present in the meeting.

Police claimed that it was stressed upon to take joint action against interstate criminals by sharing of informatio­n of their activities as such exercise would certainly help in keeping surveillan­ce over the interstate criminals involved in traffickin­g of drugs and proliferat­ion of firearms. The police officers stressed upon exchanging informatio­n at senior levels in sensitive matters in advance to make the operations successful.

"It was decided for conducting integrated checking on a regular basis with a focus, particular­ly on criminals, moving around with firearms, sharing and collection of intelligen­ce about active criminals, jail release, identifyin­g the persons involved in selling of drugs/illicit liquor and firearms in their areas and taking appropriat­e legal action against them," police said.
