NEW DELHI: The police investigators who were looking into the murder case of a family in Wazirabad area in 2016 revealed that since the case was being probed in the angle of honour killing and several years had passed, the accused were relaxed that they will not get arrested. Meanwhile, the deceased family members claimed that they had denied the UP Police theory of honour killing.

According to police, the accused Abhishek Pal told them that he was depressed after killing but later returned to his normal life and was planning to capture the property of the deceased as no one was left in their family.

"In one day they killed all four family members and each of them were murdered in a gap of three hours on that fateful day," said one of the investigator. Since the monetary dispute arose between accused and the victim, the killers had also tried to kill Ved Prakash (deceased) earlier with the pistol but their plan could not be executed.

Police claimed that after the murder, the accused persons had thrown away the bloodstained seat covers of the Swift car in the Wazirabad canal. They also sprinkled scent on the bodies and in the cars to remove the smell. They used mats to wrap the deceased bodies before throwing them in the canal. During interrogation, accused Pal claimed that he never visited the place in UP where he dumped the body.

Investigators further claimed that as two years had passed Pal was relaxed that he will get away with these murders.

"Meanwhile, two associates identified as Ritesh and Bawla died. Pal claimed that one of them committed suicide and other died in road accident. It is the matter of investigation," said DCP (Crime) Bhisham Singh.

Jaipal, relative of the deceased family, said that in 2016 when the UP Police had told them it was honour killing, they had denied.

"I was knowing my cousin brother Ved Prakash; he can't kill his daughter but police used to come to Prakash's elder brother house claiming that they had hidden him and his family," said Jaipal. He further added that they also had thought that if the theory of UP police is right then the three of the family will return one day but now Delhi Police told us that the accused killed all of them.
