HRD minister lauds performanc­e of KVS

NEW DELHI: Union Minister of HRD Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said that from next academic session, all students would learn five to ten sentences on daily basis in every language.

While addressing Kendriya Vidyalaya students on the occasion of ‘EK Bharat Shreshth Bharat’, Javadekar said, “There are 22 languages in our Constituti­on and we must know each others’ customs and traditions. Every time, any search engine in not required to search otherwise that search engine would pass the exam and not you.”

Hailing the innovative initiative of the KVS, the HRD Minister said, “It’s a very unique programme as students of one state are exhibiting the cultural diversity of other parts of the nation. This programme is helping students to learn about the culture and traditions of other states.”

Javadekar further said that such ventures of KVS instill mutual respect and acceptance for the diversity of ethos, culture, food etc. “Unity in diversity is indeed the strength of KVS and of the nation. The KVS is a role model for not only government schools, but also for private schools too as highest CBSE results obtained by KVS in class XII was around 98 per cent this year,” the minister said.

On the occasion, KVS Commission­er Santosh Kumar Mall said, “Every KV is a mini India in itself as we have children from various states studying under one roof.”
