NEW DELHI: Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam on Wednesday inaugurated the Delhi Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF), showcasing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s major works, including the newly-constructed Signature Bridge.

According to official sources, Delhi government may not celebrate ‘Delhi Day’, which is celebrated on 19 November. This year ‘Rural Enterprise in India’ is the theme of the Delhi Pavilion for the annual trade fair. Delhi Pavilion will showcase various activities of Delhi Govt’s various departments like Health, Education, Environment, DSIIDC, Industries and PSUS.

The pavilion will showcase the activities that are undertaken by them for the benefit of the citizens. Delhi Industrial Infrastructure Development

Cooperation (DSIIDC) is co-ordinating the setting up of the Delhi Pavilion. Though the space provided for Delhi Pavilions and other states is insufficient to showcase their full range of activities and achievements, Delhi Pavilion has nonetheless tried to display the activities related to the renaissance in education, health and industry.

The Delhi Pavilion got 100

square meter. DSIIDC could not arrange space for Delhi Jal Board and Tihar Jail products. The DSIIDC displayed Rani Khera-mundaka Industrial Park turning a vision into reality.

The minister said that introducing the happiness curriculum for the kids will definitely bring a positive change and help the kids to learn things in a play way without putting any stress of education on them. There is also a display of the recently-opened Signature Bridge. Mohalla clinics and new initiatives in the education sector have also been highlighted at the Delhi Pavilion.

At the entrance of Delhi Pavilion, a model of Signature Bridge has been installed. The bridge was inaugurated by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal earlier this month. Announced in 2004, the bridge has missed several deadlines since 2011. Talking to reporters after the inauguration, Gautam said the theme of the pavilion is ‘Rural Enterprise in India’. He said the pavilion also highlights the works of the AAP government in the education sector, including “happiness curriculum” in government schools. The curriculum includes meditation, moral values and mental exercises and its core idea is to produce human beings who could serve the society with happiness, Gautam said.
