NEW DELHI: In order to splurge on his three girlfriends and to earn a quick buck to manage his lavish lifestyle, a 21-year-old dancer-turnedsnatcher was arrested from south east Delhi’s Govindpuri area on Wednesday.

Police on Thursday said the accused has been identified as Rohan Gill, who was caught red-handed while he was fleeing after snatching money from an auto driver.

Cops further said that Gill had previously been arrested four times in one year.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that the auto driver had raised an alarm when Gill stole his money, which caught the attention of patrolmen of the ‘Raftaar’ motorcycle squad and beat staff of Govindpuri police station.

After a hot chase, the motorcycle squad managed to apprehend the accused.

“Rohan Gill joined SM Dance Academy in Kalkaji and completed a one year professional dance training course. After this, he joined a dance troupe and soon became the lead performer of his troupe. He even started performing in events and parties,” said the DCP.

He added that while performing in different events, Gill started consuming liquor and cigarettes regularly at the parties. The 21-year-old used to stay outside his house during nights and used to roam around in the open.

Gill further revealed to cops that he has three girlfriends and in order to splurge on them and to get easy money for his expenses, he started petty thefts and snatching in Govindpuri.
