Curtains down on DELHI BOOK FAIR
Concluding ceremony of 25th Delhi Book Fair was attended by eminent guests including Ashutosh Varma General Manager ITPO; R K Mittal, President, FIP; Naveen Gupta, Treasurer, FIP; and participants
After drawing a large crowd of bibliophiles, the 25th edition of the Delhi Book Fair along with 21st Stationery Fair, 5th Office Automation Fair and Corporate Gifts Fair concluded successfully at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on September 15.
Awards were presented by Ashutosh Varma General Manager ITPO, along with R K Mittal, President, FIP, Naveen Gupta, Treasurer, FIP, participants and media persons. The Delhi Book Fair was organised by ITPO in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP).
In the category of best display in Hindi language, the Publication Division (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India) won the Gold trophy, Samyak Prakashan received the Silver while, Govind Bhawan Karyalaya, Geeta Press was conferred the Browns trophy. Takshila Educational Society received the special commendation.
APC Books, Jaico Publishing House and Oswal Books were honoured with the Gold, Silver and Bronze
trophies respectively in the best display in English language category. The West Bengal Mayellyang Lepcha Development Board which was participating for the first time in the fair was conferred with the Gold, Urdu Academy won the Silver trophy while Sahitya Academy, New Delhi was honoured with the Bronze trophy under the best display in regional language category.
For excellence in display in Stationery, Office Automation & Corporate Gift Fair, Trison International Pvt. Ltd. won the Gold, Colop India received the Silver and Impressive Craft was presented the Bronze Trophy.
Complimenting the award winners, Ashutosh Varma, GM, ITPO pointed out that these events remained successful in terms of footfall. He hoped for the next edition to be organised with an enhanced scale after completion of the iconic International Exhibition cum Convention Centre (IECC) at Pragati Maidan. Highlighting the importance of books, he said that even in this digital age, books are relevant to ignite human minds and explore wisdom for a meaningful life.
RK Mittal, President, FIP, appreciated ITPO for holding the events regularly on a successful note. He said that the next edition of the fair would be organised with improved quality in participation so that the Indian publishing industry could be benefited.
