Noida Authority carries out cleanlines­s and anti-encroachme­nt drive

NOIDA: The Noida Authority on Sunday carried out an anti-encroachme­nt drive in vil

lage Sarfabad and reclaimed nearly 18,570 square meters of commercial land worth Rs 295 crores. As per Noida authority officials, the anti-encroachme­nt drive was carried out in work circle 6 near sector 72 of Noida.

“Seven local persons have allegedly acquired the land owned by Noida authority and did illegal constructi­on over there. Nearly 150 shanties, one nursery, four furniture showrooms and other commercial activities were done on the

land. The authority had already issued several notices to them in past while an FIR was also registered against these persons. When they didn't pay any heed to the notices, the authority carried out a demo

lition drive and razed out all the illegal constructi­ons in presence of police force and senior officials of Noida authority,” the officer said. “Under the drive, the Authority reclaimed around 18570 square meters of

land worth Rs 295 crores thus enhancing the land bank of the authority,” the officer added.

Meanwhile, continuing the fourth phase of their intensifie­d cleanlines­s drive known as ‘Safaigiri', the Authority officials along with the residents carried out cleanlines­s drive at various sectors of Noida on Sunday.

The drive was carried out in sectors 26, 34, 35, 63,135 ans village Chhijarsi of Noida on Sunday. Senior authority officials including Noida authority's officer on special duty Avinash Kumar Tripathi, senior project engineer SC Mishra and other officials wore gloves and collected garbage from the streets of these sectors and green belt.
