NDMC’S Suvidha Camps resolved 89 percent of public grievances
NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council's Suvidha Camps have resolved up to 89 percent of public grievances they have received since its inception in December 2018, a new data released by the Council on Sunday showed. The NDMC also said that it has registered as many as 960 public grievance cases as of the 13th Suvidha Camp, which was conducted at the NDMC Convention Centre here on Saturday.
The NDMC had initiated this move last year to establish a system for addressing public grievances of residents living in the New Delhi area, with services pertaining to information, facilitation and redressal of these public grievances. Most of the cases these camps have received relate to personnel, estate, public health, civil engineering and tax departments.
NDMC Secretary Rashmi Singh said that 26 teams from various departments of the Council were present at the Suvidha Camp along with their respective Heads of Department to address grievances of residents.
The NDMC Secretary said that the Council had directed all Heads of Departments to be available during the Public Hearing Hours between 12-1 pm every day to address problems of the residents and also asked them to prepare an Action Taken Report with respect to Public Hearing Hours every Friday.
This recent camp saw NDMC employees and representatives of Resident Welfare Associations and Market Traders Associations take a pledge to stop plastic usage. Moreover, a Women Help Desk was also set up to facilitate addressing problems faced by women in the community.
The NDMC'S Suvidha Camp is organised on the second Saturday of every month with the aim to redress public grievances.
