Eight-month-old falls to death from staircase Robber wanted in half dozen cases in Delhi and UP, held Gangster involved in more than half dozen cases held from Vasant Vihar

NEW DELHI: An eight months old child fell to death from a staircase of a building in NSIT campus in Dwarka, police said on Sunday.

According to police on September 13 at 11:45 AM, they received a PCR call from the hospital in sector-18, Dwarka that patient aged eight months fell from the height and one R K Gupta has come to the hospital with the kid who was dead.

The investigat­ing officer (IO) reached the hospital and collected the MLC.

The deceased's mother told IO that his child fell from the height at around 9:30 am near NSIT college canteen. The minor was declared brought dead. "The eight months old fell from the staircase and later died," police said.

The IO recorded the statements of the father and other relatives of the deceased and got the post-mortem conducted at hospital on the same day. The post-mortem report is awaited.

The city police also denied the report that the boy was mowed by a car.

"As far as allegation­s of death of a child due to an accident with a vehicle of the employee of NSIT university is concerned, till the time no complaint or allegation is received in Dwarka North police statement," reads the Delhi Police press statement.

The statement further reads that on September 15, after getting informatio­n about the circulatio­n of news of said car accident, I.O was again sent to record the statement of deceased parents. However, they denied the present allegation.

"Moreover, the PM report is awaited and after receiving of PM report necessary legal action will be taken," police said. NEW DELHI: A team of Special Cell has apprehende­d one robber identified as Mohit, age 24 years, resident of District Baghpat (UP).

He was wanted in Delhi and UP in half a dozen cases. A loaded .32 bore pistol has also been recovered from his possession.

On July 26, Mohit along with his 3 associates entered a godown of Pan Masala for looting cash from the godown and one of his associates remained outside the godown. Seven employees including godown owner were present at that time.

In a bid to scare the victims and force them to hand over the cash, these criminals opened fire.

However, one fired bullet got ricocheted from the Iron Gate and hurt the shooter Mohit.

Due to injury to one of their associate, all the criminals panicked and retreated in a hurry after assaulting and hurting two persons.

Four accused persons namely Aakash, Pankaj, Sumit and Monu were arrested in this case. Despite best efforts accused Mohit could not be arrested as he shifted his base from his village and remained evasive.

“The team started searching accused Mohit, a police team spotted him at Indraprast­ha Park, near Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi The team acted swiftly and apprehende­d accused Mohit. On his search, one .32 bore loaded pistol with two live cartridges was found from his possession,” said DCP Special Cell PS Kushwah. NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Sunday said that they have arrested a gangster who was involved in more than half a dozen criminal cases.

The investigat­ing agency said that the accused was also involved in a case of assault on Police Personnel at Patiala House court during custody.

Police identified the accused as Ajay Danial, a native of Tamilnadu.

He is an associate of gangster Gourav Jharera. Deputy Commission­er of Police (south-west) Devender Arya said that he was arrested from Vasant Vihar area by AATS team.

DCP Arya added that in the year 2013, he along with his associates had committed armed robbery in the area of Vasant Vihar in which he has gone to jail.

During this time, he met Gourav Jharera and became his associate and started extortion.

"In the year 2014, he opened fire in Vasant Gaon, in this case, he again went to jail and during the jail custody, he has assaulted a policeman in Patiala House Court who was on duty," police said.

In the year 2017, he had returned to Vasant village and assaulted a lawyer and went to jail in the case.

In April this year, he along with his associates namely Harsh, Prakash, Ashok have beaten up a person in Vasant village, who was residing in Dwarka in road rage and he was absconding in this case.

A team of AATS led by Inspector Rajesh Malik comprising of SI Mahesh made the arrest.
