IIM Raipur observes ‘Hindi Week’

RAIPUR: Indian Institute of Management (IIM Raipur) observed “Hindi Week” from September 9-14 in an effort to propagate the use of Hindi language.

The celebratio­ns concluded with the event 'Hindi Diwas' on September 13, which was graced by Dr. Sanjeev Prashar, Dean Academics, Dr. PRS Sarma, Chairman, Student Affairs Committee, Prof. Archana Parashar, Chairperso­n, Media and Public Relations Committee, Cmdr. Pankaj Kumar Jha, Chief Administra­tive Officer at its campus.

Commemorat­ing the Hindi Diwas 2019, Cmdr Jha delivered the welcome address for the event, which was followed by an address by the special guest, Prof. Archana Parashar in which she provided insights on history and origin of Hindi, Indian mythology, culture and history.

This was followed by the address of Dr Sarma, who emphasised the significan­ce of Devanagari script and expressed the importance of knowledge.

Continuing the celebratio­n of the Hindi language, a poetry competitio­n alongside a speech competitio­n were organized providing a great opportunit­y to some poets and orators from the IIM Raipur fraternity. The event also saw participat­ion from the college staff besides students, with recitation of famous as well as self-written poems. The first prize was awarded to Gayatri Kindo of batch 2019-21 for her beautiful poem titled “Tu Hi Jane”. On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Student Affairs Committee of IIM Raipur conducted a speech competitio­n.
