ELDERLY WOMAN FOUND DEAD

GREATER NOIDA: A 65-years-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside her flat at Paramount society in sector 137 area on Wednesday night.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Renu Goswami, a native of West Bengal.

Cops said that she was never married and lived with her brother's family. However, after the death of her brother, a few years ago, she was living with her sister in law of same age at the 2bhk flat in paramount floraville society.

As per a police officer, the incident occurred matter came to light on Wednesday night around 9 pm when the deceased didn't open gate for her sister in law. However she entered the flat with help of guards and found her dead in her bedroom

Jitendra Deekshit, Station House Officer of Surajpur police station said that police have found no traces of poison from the spot.

“When her sister in law broke into the flat with help of security guards, she found her lying in her bed room. When she didn't respond after repeated attempts, the woman rushed her to nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead” said Deekshit.

“Initially it looked like that the woman died after she consumed poison but we didn't find any traces of poison from the spot. We are also not clear of a foul play as her room was locked from inside. We suspect that she might have died of some health issues or by the chemical reaction of medicine which she used to take. We are waiting for the autopsy reports to ascertain the actual reason behind her death,” added Deekshit.

The officer further said that police have not yet received any complaint into the case and will investigate if a complaint is received.
