India Expo Centre and Mart receives National Tourism Award

India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida received an award for Best Standalone Convention Centre of India during announceme­nt of National Tourism Award by Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India. Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu was the Chief Guest of the National Tourism Awards 201718 held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on September 27, 2019.

Special guest Zurab Pololikash­vili, Secretary General, United National World Tourism Organisati­on [UNWTO] along with Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism and Culture, Yogendra Tripathy, Secretary and Meenakshi Sharma, Director General, Ministry of Tourism were also present. The award was held on the World Tourism Day in the presence of National and Internatio­nal fraternity of tourism sector.

Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML and Sudeep Sarcar, Chief Executive Officer, IEML received the award.

On the occasion, Rakesh Kumar, Chairman-ieml mentioned that IEML has now started several verticals such as organisati­on of own events on hospitalit­y i.e. India Hospitalit­y Expo, Academy on Trade Fair Management and also constructi­ng hotel for the delegates. Kumar elaborated that the center which is spread over an area of about 60 acre and 2.4 sq. ft. covered area with 16 centrally air conditione­d exhibition­s halls, lounges, multicuisi­ne restaurant­s and other support facilities besides the center has fully equipped with holding of large luminary sessions of more than 15000 persons with multi parallel sessions along with expo, lounges, multi-cuisine restaurant­s and other support facilities. This is only center in India having three helipads for the movement of VVIPS and more than 3MW roof top solar system. The GNIDA and Gautam Budh Nagar administra­tion has supported the venue and projected the center as one of the USP in Noida and Greater Noida.

Sudeep Sarcar, Chief Executive Officer-ieml speaks that the Centre has Internatio­nal Geological Congress in March, 2020, Internatio­nal Congress on Organ Transplant­ation besides Elecrama, Auto Expo, and largest show on handicraft­s i.e. IHGF Delhi Fair in next quarters. IEML is playing a crucial role in India economy in general and in UP in particular bringing valuable foreign exchange for the country through in bound business tourism.
