NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal welcomed four-time former Congress MLA Prahlad Singh Sawhney into the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday. Sawhney said he is dedicated to working for the welfare of the people through the AAP. He said he joined the AAP beacuse the work of the party
lured him, and not the ticket. Welcoming Sawhney and his team into the party, the Chief Minister said, "I hope that the party's work towards serving the people will be strengthened through his participation. There are a
lot of good leaders in other parties who are looking towards Aam Aadmi Party. I wholeheartedly welcome Prahlad Sawhney ji and I appeal to all the good leaders of the country, irrespective of the party they belong to, to join AAP in the interest of the nation.”

Sawhney said, "I have no desire for power or an election ticket. People in my locality are so happy about the kind of developmental work that Delhi government has done in the fields of education, health, power, transport, etc, that people themselves come forward and say this time their vote is for Kejriwal ji. The provision of cheap water and electricity has been especially impactful with most people in my area getting zero bills for electricity."
“I was surprised to know how wellversed Kejriwal ji is about the issues faced by a common man despite being such a senior IRS officer in the past. People themselves say they will vote for CM Kejriwal again. I want to congratulate Kejriwal ji in advance for his victory in the upcoming assembly elections," added the four-time MLA.
Several ex-ward councilors and presidents of the block presidents were also inducted into the party. Ex-councilors of Majnu ka Tila ward, Pawan and Naina Prem Vani, block president of Civil Lines Narendra Handa, Kashmere Gate Block President Mirza Zaiker, Jama Masjid Block president Zahid were also present.
