Two separate incidents of robbery reported in Gzb

GREATER NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: While the cops were busy with Dussehra celebratio­ns, a software engineer was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by atleast four assailants after they kept him hostage inside his SUV car for nearly eight hours on Tuesday night and withdrew around Rs 1.5 lakh from his bank account in multiple transactio­ns.

According to police, the incident occurred around 11 pm on Tuesday when the victim, identified as Gaurav Singh, was heading towards his society near Gaur City roundabout.

As per complaint, the incident occurred when the victim was about to enter his society in Gaur City, nearly four assailants stopped him and attacked with a knife. They dumped him on the back seat and drove him for nearly eight hours before dumping him in Bisrakh area. The accused persons drive the car to places withdrew around 1.5 lakh in at least 10-15 transactio­ns from different ATM. The techie was also beaten blue and black by the accused persons. However, they left his mobile phone and car and fled away with cash and other belongings, read the report.

Manoj Pathak, Station House Officer of Bisrakh police station said that crime by gang of robbers with similar modus operandi have been reported earlier in other parts of the district.

“Similar incidents have been reported in past but police have successful­ly worked out the cases and have arrested the criminals. We have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC against unidentifi­ed criminals and are checking with the CCTV footage of nearby area to identify them. Soon we are expecting to make a breakthrou­gh into the case” said Pathak.

lar incident, armed assailants robbed a custodian agent of a security company with Rs 5

lakh in Lohiya Nagar area on Wednesday.

As per police, the custodian works for Radiant cash management company and the incident took place at 9.30 am on Wednesday morning when he was going to Axis bank to deposit the money from office and he was carrying company money in a leather bag only.

Umesh Bahadur Singh, SHO of Sihani Gate Police station said that the two persons wearing helmet came on a bike and snatched a bag carrying money from him. The accused also fire two times in air to escape.

Police have registered an FIR into the matter and are investigat­ing the case.
