Over the years, love for heavy, traditional outfits and extravagant jewellery has comparatively declined among contemporary women. Instead, women prefer to wear something which is elegant and subtle for every occasion – be it a wedding, party, pooja or ‘Karwachauth’ in particular.

Imagine fasting the whole day (spending the day without consuming water and food) wearing all the ornaments and heavy work saree. Painful?

We know!

That is why fashion experts suggest you to take on a simple plain saree and rather experiment with blouses. “You can get designer blouses that have a print with a similar colour to the saree, or embroidered blouses with beautiful thread work. You can get creative with colour, print, floral, or lace blouse designs to spice up your plain saree attire,” shares Gautam Gupta, Designer. According to him, a gorgeous designer blouse paired with a plain saree with minimal jewellery is all you need to look elegant.

How about a gold embroidery blouse with plain navy saree or a sleeveless blouse design with a plain saree of any colour? You can give it a shot as well. Also, one can opt for a sheer blouse with a yellow chiffon saree to blossom like a flower on this day. Vinny

Khurana, Vinny Khurana Couture also informs that women nowadays are opting for bolder blouse designs. They also want to explore the funky side of a traditional attire like saree.

“With plain chiffon sarees, pastel brocade or printed elbow sleeve blouses can go. But with plain net sarees, intricate cut-dana embroidered blouses should be chosen,” Vinny shares, adding, “If you’re going with plain georgette sarees then metallic designer or floral printed blouses should be your pick.”

For the day parties, fashion experts suggest full neck printed blouses with those simple yet chic plain sarees. But if the event is at night, then it is preferred to go for netted blouses with plain chiffon sarees.

A few other options which can be considered are ‘kutch work blouse’, ‘sleeveless blouse’, ‘brocade blouse’, ‘sequined blouse’, ‘top-style printed blouse’, ‘jacket-neck blouse’, ‘net blouse’, and many more.

All these blouses reflect their versatility on their own and can be experimented with other sarees as well. Therefore, this year, fashion designers recommend all the beautiful ladies to opt for subtle colours with embroidered blouses, which will further help to bring out the elegant side of you. This Karwachauth, showcase your stylish self with these amazing combinations.
