SHAHPUR JAT AUTUMN festival ends on a successful note

Delhi Tourism's Shahpur Jat Autumn Festival ended on a joyous note with an enthrallin­g performanc­e by renowned Bollywood singer Monali Thakur. Bringing to light the urban transforma­tion of Shahpur Jat, Delhi Tourism in associatio­n with Delhi Govt. hosted the two day festival catering to history and fashion lovers.

Commencing the first day of the vibrant Shahpur Jat Autumn Festival, Saurabh Bharadwaj, MLA, Greater Kailash, inaugurate­d the festivitie­s with thorough fanfair.

Visitors were welcomed with an enthrallin­g line up of cultural performanc­es by local artists and performers from Haryana and Punjab. A variety of stalls offering delectable dishes and trendy attires decked the festivitie­s even further.

Hosting walks and workshops that cater to different interests, the festival offered art, painting and recycling workshops that engaged kids and individual­s alike, while Heritage walks by INTACH enlivened the curiosity of history enthusiast­s. Organising the firstof-its-kind Retail Therapy Walk lead by stylist Manish, avid fashion enthusiast­s relished the walk along fashion street exploring the talented work of designers at Shahpur Jat.

Renowned artists like Deepa Chaudhary and Group showcased the melodious art of ‘Ragini' a folk music form from Haryana. Leading the day into a fun-filled evening, the visitors were thoroughly entertaine­d by LOL with Hasya Kavi Sunil Jogi. Delhi Government, recently also hosted three days long Mehrauli Monsoon Festival to highlight the cultural and ecological significan­ce of Mehrauli as a tourist destinatio­n. Similarly, this festival aims to bring forward more tourism offerings in the city.

The government plans to make this Shahpur Jat Autumn Festival an annual feature that would become a part of Delhi's Annual Tourism Calendar.
