‘Operation Clean’ relaunched in Gautam Buddh Nagar Northern Railways Central Hospital hold breast cancer awareness programme Elaborate traffic arrangemen­ts for laser show

G B NAGAR: Once again the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police is undertakin­g its drive “Operation Clean” which is aimed to curb various illegal activities going around the district. In Wednesday's drive, the police have arrested 21 persons and recovered over two dozen stolen vehicles after conducting raids at shops of various scrap dealers in the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida.

Senior cops said that all the police stations of the district were directed to conduct searches at various identified scrap warehouses.

“Around 100 teams were formed who conducted search at 49 spots in rural area and 51 spots in urban area. The drive was initiated to look for the stolen vehicles. In an eight hours drive starting from 12 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, police teams recovered 26 two wheelers, four four wheelers and arrested 21 persons,” said a senior police officer.

The officer further said that police received tip off that the vehicle lifters usually sell the stolen vehicles to scrap dealers who dismantle the vehicle and sell it in parts.

NEW DELHI: The Oncology Department at the Northern Railways Central Hospital on Thursday organised a "Think Pink" breast cancer awareness programme in the Capital city, as part of the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month this year.

Northern Railways General Manager TP Singh was at the event along with Harinder Kaur, President of the Northern Railways Women Welfare Organisati­on along with other senior officials.

As per statistics from the World Health Organisati­on, cancer is set to be the most prevalent disease in the years to come and breast cancer is seemingly the most predominan­t type of cancer found in women all over the world.

In India, breast cancer is observed more in the urban population with one in 28 women having a chance of getting the disease. Experts have said that early detection and timely treatment are the first steps to be taken to tackle the disease.

Puneet Gupta, both oncologist­s at private hospitals in Delhi spoke at the event on topics such as Screening and Early Detection of Breast Cancer and Changing Trends of Cancer Care in India. Both the experts were of the opinion that self awareness and regular clinical checkups especially after the age of 30 yrs goes a long way in early detection of Breast Cancer consequent­ly the treatment rate also improves.

GM Singh addressed the gathering and congratula­ted the doctors of Northern Railways for their dedicated service to their patients and informed the gathering that a new software “Hospital Management System” is being developed by the Railways, implementa­tion of which will streamline patient management and record keeping.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Traffic Police has made elaborate arrangemen­ts on various traffic routes for a four-day laser show to celebrate Diwali.

According to Traffic Police advisory, on October 26 a laser show will be organised at "Dilli Ki Diwali" celebratio­ns at Central Park in Connaught Place. The laser show will be held from at 6 pm to 10 pm from October 26 to October 29. “Due to the function the inner circle will remain close from 4 pm to 11 pm for general traffic movements and movement will be permitted for Inner Circle parking lots from C block to F block" reads advisory.

Visitors may come to inner circle via Janpath road entry point and can move to Palika parking or F block parking will be through Bara Khamba road side and exit from Palika parking will be towards Baba Kharak Singh Marg. "Visitors may come to inner circle via State entry road and move to parking lot at C block. The exit will be towards Minto Road side," reads advisory.
