NEW DELHI: CISF personnel on Sunday restored the bag containing cash Rs 1.64 lakh to the rightful owner at IGI Airport Metro Station.

According to CISF, on November 3 assistant subinspector Hari Singh of CISF noticed an unattended black colour bag lying on the output roller of X-BIS machine at the IGI Airport metro station.

He asked nearby passengers but no one came forward to claim the bag. Immediately, the bag was checked from the security point of view and the CCTV footage was reviewed.

The matter was informed to senior officers and station controller. After ascertaining that there was no dangerous or hazardous item inside the bag, it was opened in the presence of Station Controller.

On the opening of the bag, cash, one mobile phone and a wrist watch were found inside the bag. The bag along-with cash and valuables was deposited with the station controller.

After some time, a passenger Colonel Amit Razdan came at the metro station and claimed the bag. He informed that he mistakenly forgot to collect his bag after security check and boarded the metro. After reaching Dwarka Sec-21 metro station, he realised his mistake and came back to IGI Airport metro station.

Thereafter, the passenger was taken to station controller room and after proper verification, the bag along-with cash and valuables was restored to him.

"The passenger thanked CISF on getting his bag alongwith cash intact, appreciated the alertness and honesty displayed by CISF personnel," said Hemendra Singh, PRO (CISF).
