MCG to expedite process of taking over 6 pvt colonies
GURUGRAM: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram on Monday stated that it will expedite the process of taking over the six residential colonies set by the private developers. These colonies include Ardee City, Malibu Towne, Vipul World, Uppal South End, Rosewood City, and Mayfield Garden.
The MCG Commissioner Amit Khatri has already written a letter to Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) Chief KM Pandurang and has sought detail of these colonies.
This includes the number of tarmac roads, water supply system, sewage facilities, parks, community centers, and streetlights.
It was announced by the Chief Minister in 2016 that the MCG will be taking over the private colonies. After the announcement, there was the survey done that how much dues were to be given to the public agency for maintenance works. Major discrepancies and complications, however, has kept on delaying the process of the takeover.
Residents of the Private colonies in Gurugram are facing a major dilemma as they have to pay the maintenance fee to both Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and the Private developers.
Certain prominent builders are still responsible for the upkeep of the colonies like ensuring security, ensuring street lighting and collection of garbage from homes.
However, residents in some of these private colonies complain that the maintenance of the colonies has degraded.
Most of the private developers are yet to apply for the full completion certificate from the public agencies even after most of the developers got way back in the eighties and nineties to develop the residential colonies.
