34K TO GO ON PILGRIMAGE UNDER MUKHYAMANTRI TIRTH YATRA YOJANA

NEW DELHI: Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana' 34,000 people will go on a pilgrimage in the next two months. The Delhi Government has finalized the schedule of December and January under the Chief Minister's pilgrimage scheme.
In the coming two months, 34 trains will leave for various pilgrimage sites. The maximum number of these – 14 – trains has been set scheduled for Rameswaram.
A Senior official said, “the number of applications under the Chief Minister's Tirth Yatra Yojana has crossed 70 thousand. In view of this, the list of 34 trains has been finalized for December and January.
The scheme was launched on July 12. As of 30th November, 30 trains have gone to different pilgrimage sites. Bansal (Kamal Bansal-the Chairman of Tirth Yatra Yojana) says that
about 30 thousand people have taken advantage of this scheme and in the next two months 34 thousand people will be able to go on a pilgrimage.”
An official document stated, “The highest number of applications have come for Rameswaram and Dwarkadhish. This is the reason that most of the trains are kept for both these pilgrimage sites. Rameswaram has 14 trains at most. Right now, 60 to 70 percent of the applications are for Rameswaram and Dwarkadhish pilgrimage sites.”
According to an official document, “Most of the applications that have come so far shows that most people will be able to go for a pilgrimage till the end of January. In the schedule for the next two months, 14 trains are for Rameswaram. 7 trains for Dwarkadhish, 5 trains for Tirupati Balaji, and four trains will go to Jagannathpuri pilgrimage sites.there will be two trains for Shirdi and one each for Ajmer-pushkar and Ujjain. The schedule of trains has been fixed from December 1 to January 28.”
“The scheme started with three trains, now there are four trains running. The Delhi government has written a letter to the Railways regarding two more trains. So far, 30 thousand people have visited pilgrimage sites under this scheme,” as per the official document.
