CEASEFIRE: ANOTHER EMPLOYEE TESTS +VE

GHAZIABAD: A 29-yearsold woman from Vasundhara of Ghaziabad has tested positive with COVID-19 on Thursday. Health department officials said that the woman also worked with Ceasefire corporate company in Sector 135 of Noida.

The woman, a resident of Sector 2 in Vasundhara, was admitted to MMG hospital in Ghaziabad along with her sister on March 29. “On Thursday morning, the woman was confirmed positive while her sister was tested negative. She has been shifted to isolation ward along with five others who tested positive earlier. The district has reported nine positive cases till now, two persons have discharged after getting treatment while five others are still in MMG hospital. One other patient from Ghaziabad was referred to Safdarjung Hospital,” said N K Gupta, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Ghaziabad.

The district health department has also identified 30 more persons through contact tracing who were in close proximity with the woman and have advised them to stay in home isolation till they are tested.

“It was revealed that the woman along with a couple from Mohan Nagar used to travel to work in the same cab. The couple and cab driver had tested positive with Coronaviru­s earlier. Till now four persons in Ghaziabad have been found infected from the same source from the Ceasefire company,” the CMO added.

Meanwhile, no new positive case COVID-19 was reported from the Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Thursday. District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar said that none of the 42 positive COVID-19 patients admitted in hospitals are in critical condition.

“Six patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital while the others admitted have not yet been put on ventilator or injections. At present we have 48 ventilator­s on standby at GIMS and a few private hospitals. Also a facility of 340 isolation beds is available with us. We will extend the facility if needed,” said Suhas LY, DM, GB Nagar.
