Cops shift 18 pregnant women to hospitals
NEW DELHI: Amid COVID19 lockdown, when public transport services are suspended, people, especially in emergency medical conditions are facing hardship. In such a crisis, PCR in the last 24 hours shifted as many as 18 pregnant women to different hospitals in the national Capital.
The PCR vehicles reach the distressed women in quickest possible time. According to data, four women from Outer North, Eight from Dwarka, three from South Delhi and one each woman from Rohini, North East and East Delhi were shifted to hospitals. “Out of these, four calls were received at odd hours between 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and some places were as far as 17 km from nearest multi-speciality hospitals,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR) Sharat Sinha.
Meanwhile, the food delivery network established in all 15 districts with the involvement of nearly 400 NGOS, RWAS, good samaritans facilitated by the Delhi Police has led to the provision of meals and food packets at more than 250 locations which enabled feeding of nearly 2,21,494 persons and dry ration to 3,747 persons.
“On Friday, the Delhi Police in association with Muthoot distributed 2,000 kg wheat flour, 2,000 kg rice and 1,000 kg pulses to 350 persons in Munirka, Kishangarh and Sikandarpur areas,” police said. The campaign named 50 meal pack challenge under a group of young professionals led to the distribution of 585 dry ration kits each containing 5 kg rice, 5 kg wheat flour, 2 kg dal, 1kg salt and 1 ltr cooking oil in the areas of J. J. Colony Bawana, Prem Nagar Nangloi and Pappankalan Near Matiala.
