Gynaecolog­ist of Hindu Rao Hospital tests +ve

NEW DELHI: A gynaecolog­ist of Hindu Rao Hospital has tested positive of the virus on Friday, taking the toll of ten healthcare workers including, six doctors in the hospital. On the other hand, Kasturba Hospital has witnessed about five Covid positive cases.

Speaking on the situation, North MCD took out a statement and said, “Till today, 10 healthcare staff in Hindu Rao Hospital and five in Kasturba have come positive. All contact tracing is done and they have been sent on quarantine. Necessary sanitizati­on has also been undertaken. Also basis the negative reports received earlier, period of home quarantine of 46 personnel has finished and they have been asked to report back on duty.”

Meanwhile, North MCD provided 10 new thermal scanners to the hospital on Friday. “There was some problem with a thermal scanner at a clinic,” said a source.

Cases among healthcare workers are increasing everyday with another doctor at Raja Harishchan­dra Hospital in Narela has tested positive. This is the first case in the hospital. In Delhi, Baba Saheb Ambedkar has the highest number of cases with the toll reaching 83.

New cases also emerged from different parts of the national Capital. At Malviya Nagar’s Khirki Extension, two ambulances came to pick up some cases that were tested positive. “The area has not been sealed as of now, while a few shops have also opened,” said a resident in the area.
