Local public officials, family to get free Covid treatment

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has ordered to provide treatment and quarantine facilities to COVID-19 positive officers/officials of Delhi government, autonomous bodies, corporations, local bodies and their family members at three designated hotel premises asking Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital (RGSSH) to provide healthcare facilities to these premises.

The Delhi government, as per the order, has designated Hotel Ginger in Vivek Vihar, Hotel Park Plaza in Shahdra and Hotel Leela Ambience in CBD ground having capacity of 70, 50 and 50 beds each. The first one is a budget hotel while remaining two are five star hotels.

“RGSSH would be extended in these hotels. DM Shahdra is directed to requisition these rooms in these hotels. RGSSH (including extended in hotels) and laboratory is hereby designated for treatment of COVID19 positive patients. Director, RGSSH, is directed to provide COVID healthcare facility at these hotels to such patients. The treatment/quarantine facility shall be exclusively provided at these facilities,” the order said.

Earlier, the Delhi government announced that doctors working at Lok Nayak Hospital and GB Pant Hospital on Coronavirus duty will be lodged at Hotel Lalit.

The administration has come with a 14-day shift and 14-day quarantine plan for health workers and medical professionals. The plan will keep the spread of Coronavirus in check.
