“All the District Magistrates shall strictly enforce the lockdown measures and the National Directives for COVID-19 management for public and at work places, as specified by guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA),” DDMA said in an order issued recently.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said that the national capital is threatened with the spread of COVID-19 epidemic, which has already been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

In pursuance of Ministry of Home Affairs dated May1 regarding new guidelines contained therewith, DDMA has issued order in regard to extension of lockdown till the midnight of May 17 which, inter alia, incorporated aforesaid new guidelines on the measures for containment of COVID-19;

“It was made amply clear vide clause 13 of the new MHA guidelines annexed with the aforesaid order that no separate, fresh permissions are required from authorities for activities already permitted to operate under the guidelines on lockdown measures up to May 3,” it said.

The order further stated that it has been brought to the knowledge of the government that several activities duly allowed as per DDMA order dated May 3 and revised guidelines of MHA enclosed therewith, are not being allowed by different government authorities as well as ‘Resident Welfare Associations’ (RWAS) etc on their own accord, which is contrary to the spirit of aforesaid guidelines.
