Managing stress during hard times
Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts’ (EPCH) organised a webinar on ‘Positivity and Wellbeing – Wellness through willingness’ on May 5, 2020, which was the need of the hour during the
lockdown due to COVID-19.
Dr Era Dutta, MD, Psychiatry and MBBS, a winner of ‘Torrent Young Psychiatrists’ award and Consultant Neuropsychiatrist and ‘Life Wellness Coach’ from Fortis Healthcare, Kolkata was the expert faculty of the webinar.
Ravi K Passi, Chairman, EPCH; O P Prahladka, COA member, EPCH and owner of Hitaishi KK Manfacturing Co. Pvt. Ltd, Kolkata; Prince Malik, COA member; EPCH; Avdesh Agarwal, Shree Sai De Art, Moradabad, Secretary, Moradabad Handicrafts Exporters Association and R K Verma, Executive Director, EPCH along with 300 participants joined from all across the country.
Dr Era Dutta spoke on the need to remain focused and positive during these difficult times and prioritise things in one’s
life so as to overcome the challenges. She also asked the participants to stay away from negativity as any negative thought can affect positive thinking. She stressed on the need to manage stress as stress is not always negative but it is one who manages the stress well succeeds in life.
Dr Dutta said that positivity has four pillars i.e. cognitive positivity, sensory positivity, physical and emotional positivity. There is novelty in every situation and people can remain positive by searching what they have learnt during difficult time.
R K Verma, Executive Director, EPCH said “The subject of the seminar on ‘Positivity and Wellbeing’ through willingness was the need of the hour since because of the situation, we are unable to do certain things which add to our stress but it has made us more innovative as ‘EPCH’ was not able organise 49th edition of ‘IHGFDELHI Fair’ due to this lockdown but looking forward, the council is doing it in a virtual mode.”
