In two days, 38 paramilita­ry personnel recover from virus

NEW DELHI: Since Wednesday, 38 personnel from different paramilita­ry forces have recovered from the virus. Meanwhile, as per the latest data, COVID-19 tally in forces rose to more than 870 with 38 new cases in the last 24 hours.

According to Border Security Force (BSF), their 21 personnel (Tripura-14, Kolkata-6, Delhi-1), earlier tested COVID-19 positive, were discharged from hospitals.

"Since Wednesday all these personnel have been tested negative. They have been put under quarantine as per the protocol. These 21 are in addition to earlier three cured cases," an official said, adding that 10 fresh cases were reported from BSF. Since COVID outbreak, over 310 personnel have been tested positive.

As many as 12 personnel from Indo-tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were tested negative in the last 24 hours. All these personnel were deployed in Delhi. "12 new cases were also reported and they are getting treatment," an official said. Since Corona outbreak, 171 cases were reported from the force in which 13 were cured.

In Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), two of their jawans recovered from the virus in two days (Wednesday-thursday). Seven new cases were also reported from the force taking tally to 254 in which five have recovered and one death was reported.

Three personnel from the CISF were tested negative for COVID-19 and no new case was reported on Thursday. "Two personnel deployed in Mumbai Port and one in DMRC were tested negative," the official said.

Nine new cases were reported from Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). According to data, 30 personnel, deployed within Delhi, were tested positive for the virus in which one of them has recovered.
