NOIDA: With Noida continuing to keep its borders sealed with Delhi and other nearby states, traffic snarls were witnessed on both sides of the DND flyway on the first day of lockdown 4.0 on Monday with police allowing passage to only those vehicles involved in supply of essential commodities or those having e-passes issued from concerned authority.

Vehicles started queuing up at DND toll plaza as well as Kalindi Kunj since morning with many commuters travelling from Delhi to Noida and vice versa, including officegoers, banking staff and paramedical staff getting stopped by cops and passage were provided to only those with valid e-pass and I-cards return to Delhi.

The situation remained pack for more than three hours while those from Delhi, who were trying to enter Noida to commute their office, were asked to show the travel pass issued by the DM of Gautam Buddh Nagar.

Police formed a single lane for checking of the e-passes which created trouble for commuters and as the queues started to get longer, police made all those coming without passes return to Delhi only.

The Delhi Police through making a tweet asked people to plan their trip accordingly as the Uttar Pradesh Police is allowing entry to NOIDA only for vehicle heaving movement pass issued by D.M Noida.

Meanwhile, officials of Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration has ordered to maintain the status quo during the fourth phase of lockdown till they receive clear directives from Uttar Pradesh government.
