Gurugram: 50 guests will be allowed in wedding ceremonies

GURUGRAM: A maximum of 50 guests will be allowed to attend a wedding and the banquet hall will have to seek prior permission from the deputy commission­er to organise a wedding on their premises, guidelines issued by the urban local bodies department on Friday state. Moreover, liquor will not be allowed in the ceremonies.

The Gurugram District Administra­tion has issued the standard operating procedure (SOP) for weddings and salons and barber shops.

“Marriage/banquet halls can be opened with a maximum of 50 guests at any time. However, they have to obtain prior permission for organising wedding functions in their premises from the deputy commission­er or any other authorised officer,” said Gurugram Deputy Commission­er Amit Khatri.

It further stated that every marriage function shall be conducted in an open public place with proper natural ventilatio­n.

Moreover, a person who is a resident in the containmen­t zone will not be allowed to attend the function.

“A nodal person shall be appointed for overseeing the arrangemen­ts and coordinati­on at the venue. A list of attendees of the marriage with contact details has to be maintained and all guests should have Arogya Setu app downloaded in their mobile phones,” said the Gurugram Deputy Commission­er

For salons, people with flu-like symptoms shall not be allowed inside and disposable towel/paper sheets are mandatory to be used by each client.

Specific instructio­ns have been given to these salons about the hygiene and sanitizati­on norms which they have to follow strictly while operating. Those involved in the business of beauty will wear full PPE kits and gloves. Besides sanitisati­on process, norms on social distancing also have to be followed. Staff and customer capacity has been asked to keep low.
