NEW DELHI: Delhi government’s Revenue Department has asked all district level nodal officers who are at SDM level to send data regarding migrant labourers to Revenue Headquarters. It has also asked to furnish details to K Murugan, AGM GSDL and on his email Id-kmurugan@gmail.com — at the earliest. The move of the department has aimed to facilitate labourers’movement from city to their native place.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, in April last week, had said that stranded migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students will be allowed to move with conditions during lockdown. All states were asked to designate nodal authorities and develop standard protocols for receiving and sending such stranded persons.

As per the guidelines, the nodal authorities were asked register stranded persons within their states or union territories. All such people will be medically screened at source and destination and kept in home or institutional quarantine on arrival, say the

latest guidelines from the ministry. They would be kept under watch with periodic health check-ups and for this reason the MHA advised them to use Aarogya Setu app through which “their health status can be monitored and tracked”.

Following direction, the Delhi government had appointed a senior official as the nodal officer to facilitate the movement of migrant workers and other people stranded in the national Capital. According to an order, Special Commissioner rank official had also been appointed as the nodal officer of Delhi Police and he will provide all assistance and logistical support of the police department to Gupta for the movement of stranded people from Delhi to other states.
