After 34 +ve cases, Vaishali placed under sector scheme till further orders

GHAZIABAD: After a total of 34 Covid-19 positive cases have been reported from Vaishali area of Ghaziabad, the district administration has implement sector scheme in Vaishali locality till further orders. Officials said that move is followed the area emerged as a large Covid-19 hotspot and there will be strict restrictions on the movement of residents in the locality.

The administration has already implemented sector scheme in Khoda and Loni area which have also witnessed the majority of cases in Ghaziabad.

As per a senior officer, under the sector scheme concept, teams of police, magistrates and health department officials take over an area for strict surveillance, sampling and contact tracing while ensuring restriction on movement of residents.

“Following the directions from administration, the sector scheme has been implemented in all the six sectors of Vaishali area. The area has been divided into two zones comprising four sub-zones. Each sub-zone will be assigned with a team of officers who will check for violation of lockdown norms. There will be restriction on movement of people in and out of the locality while all the items of essential supplies will be provided by the administration,” a senior administrative officer said.

The officer further said that intensive sanitsation will be carried out in Vaishali area during this period while people will not be allowed to leave the locality except those engaged in essential services like police, doctors, paramedics.
