153 new cases in Gurugram

GURUGRAM/NOIDA/ GHAZIABAD: On Friday, 153 positive cases appeared in the district with majority of them in containmen­t zones while 40 patients were discharged from hospitals. The total number of cases has now reached 1,563 in the district including 1,227 patients admitted in different hospitals.

The officials further said that the condition of two patients is extremely critical. Gurugram district has already registered 4 deaths. The district administra­tion added 3 more containmen­t zones on Friday as the district now has 66 such zones including 63 in Gurugram block, 2 in Pataudi and 1 in Sohna block.

The number of positive Covid-19 cases kept on increasing on Friday as well with 27 positive cases from Gautam Buddh Nagar and 20 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Ghaziabad.

Apart from positive cases, one death due to corona virus was reported each from both these districts on Friday.

According to the latest data, the total number of positive cases across Noida and Greater Noida are 570 out of which 353 patients have been cured while 209 and still getting treatment at the hospital. Also, 48 patients who were tested positive at labs on GB Nagar have been cross notified to other districts and states.

However, there are reports that the cross notified cases are not getting added to the count of other districts even after getting informed. While these cases are treated and discharged but are not added anywhere thus raising questions about an increased number of missing cases.

With more government officials involved in Covid duties reported positive, the staff is demanding testing of all the employees especially those working in containmen­t zones and high risk areas. However, senior officials have said that testing is done only is case of visible symptoms as per ICMR guidelines.

So far, eight cops from GB Nagar police, four officials from district administra­tion and four employees of Noida Authority have tested positive. With an officer on special duty in Noida Authority along with three other employees getting tested positive Covid19 on Friday, the administra­tion has sealed authority premises for next two days for sanitisati­on.
