13 new cases in paramilita­ry forces, over 40 recoveries

NEW DELHI: More than 40 fresh recoveries from Coronaviru­s were reported from paramilita­ry forces. Meanwhile, 13 personnel, from different forces, were also affected by the virus.

10 new cases and more than 30 fresh recoveries were reported from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). According to CRPF, since COVID-19 outbreak, 490 cases were reported in the force. An official said that there are 153 active cases and two deaths have been reported. According to a senior official, one death was reported of a CRPF jawan, posted in CRPF'S 141 Battalion. He was getting treatment of cancer. "We are waiting for the report which will reveal the exact cause of death and whether he was affected by the virus or not," the official said, adding that the personnel had joined the force in the year 2004.

As per the BSF, four new recoveries were reported from the force. As per data, there are 82 active cases in the force, a total of 407 personnel have recovered from the pandemic and two deaths have been reported due to the virus.

Six CISF personnel have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. According to CISF, the force has a total of 104 active COVID-19 cases, while over 198 personnel have recovered from the disease and four deaths have been reported.

Three new cases were reported from the IndoTibeta­n Border Police (ITBP). The number of active cases in ITBP is 34 and 177 of its personnel have recovered since COVID-19 outbreak. "31 cases are from Delhi, one each from Rupai, Shivpuri and Tezpur. Condition of all admitted is stable," an ITBP official said

ITBP has thrown open the gates of its countrywid­e health centres and hospitals for its veterans suffering from the novel coronaviru­s, the chief of the paramilita­ry force said on Saturday. "Our Himveers (mountain warriors) have sweated throughout their life. We do not want that they suffer and hence all our veterans are being offered health services in case anyone of you are affected by COVID-19," said ITBP Director General (DG) S S Deswal.

According to Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) official, their six personnel have recovered from the virus. "Currently there are 64 active cases in the force and 31 jawans have recovered. One death was also reported due to virus," data shows.
