NEW DELHI: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, on Monday, said that the State Disaster Management Authority’s (SDMA) meeting with experts scheduled for Tuesday, to understand the spread of Covid-19 in Delhi, will go as per planned. Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal will chair the SDMA meeting as scheduled.

The Deputy Chief Minister also said that he will attend the SDMA meeting with experts on behalf of Chief Minister Kejriwal who is under self quarantine after experiencing Covid-19 symptoms like sore throat and fever.

Putting everyone’s doubts at rest surrounding the Chief Minister’s health conditions and his presence at the meeting Sisodia said: “CM Arvind Kejriwal is not keeping well, has a sore throat and mild fever. He has self quarantined himself and will take the test tomorrow. But he is also of the view that this meeting is crucial as it will help us ascertain if Delhi has entered the community spread stage of COVID 19. And our entire strategy to deal with the pandemic is going to change. So the CM wants this meeting to take place as per planned, and he has authorized me to attend this meeting.”

Arvind Kejriwal, who is the vice-chairman of the DDMA, has authorised his deputy to attend this meeting on his behalf.

Sisodia said if community transmission was taking place in Delhi, the Aap-led government would have to change its strategy accordingly to deal with the situation.

The Deputy also spoke on the LG’S notice barring Delhi Government from reserving

Government and private hospital beds for residents of the city.

The Deputy CM said, “We had taken the decision after thorough deliberations so that people of Delhi could get beds and treatment if cases increase in future. CM had planned the number of beds required for people and how they could be arranged.”

He also lashed out against Bjp-ruled state governments and said that they are busy with PPE kit scams and ventilator scams. The government of Delhi is trying to manage this disaster honestly and thoughtfully. The hard of Delhi government is unnoticeable to the BJP hence they have pressured the LG to open up hospital facilities for all, alleged Sisodia.

Meanwhile Delhi CM in a statement said that LG’S order has created major problem and challenges for Delhiites.

He said: “Providing treatment for people coming from all over the country during the Corona epidemic is a big challenge. May God bless us to serve the people of the whole country. We will try to provide treatment to all.”
