-

Sushant Singh Rajput was cremated at the Pawan Hans Crematorium at Vile Parle in Mumbai on the afternoon of June 15. His father and family members flew down to Mumbai after the actor was found dead at his Bandra home in Mumbai on the morning of June 14.

Sushant’s body was found hanging in his apartment and the postmortem report said his death was due to asphyxiation by hanging.

Early in the morning, police also questioned Sushant’s friends Rhea Chakraborty and Mahesh Shetty to assess the late actor’s mental state. Sushant’s sister told the police that the actor was not keeping well for the past few days, but they never expected that he would take such an extreme step. A statement from his family recently read, “It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life and his work like they have done so far. We request the media to help us maintain privacy at this moment of grief.” The who’s who of Bollywood turned up at the Pawan Hans crematorium this afternoon. Ekta Kapoor, who was the person behind Sushant Singh Rajput’s success on TV, was also present at the actor’s funeral. When the news of Sushant’s death broke yesterday, Ekta wrote, “Not fair, my baby.”

Casting director Mukesh Chhabra, director Dinesh Vijan were also among the attendees at the crematorium. Tahir Bhasin, Prateik Babbar, Abhishek Kapoor were also at Vile Parle. Pictures and videos also showed actor Rajkummar Rao, Sushant’s Sonchiriya co-star Ranvir Shorey, Vivek Oberoi, producer and actorproducer Jaccky Bhagnani at the funeral.
