Nizamuddin Markaz case: 12 Charge sheets against 41 foreigners
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police Crime Branch on Friday filed 12 more charge sheets in the Nizamuddin Markaz case, taking the tally of charge sheets to 59 against 956 foreign nationals from 36 countries.
The new charge sheets have been filed against 41 foreigners from 12 different countries. The accused have been booked for the violation of visa norms and various government orders on directions by managers of the Markaz at Banglewali Masjid, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi. During the investigation, 47 charge sheets against 915 foreigners had already been filed in the court on 26th, 27th and 28th May 2020.
These foreigners are set to be prosecuted for offences like violation of regulations regarding Epidemic Diseases Act, violation of the provisions of the Disaster Management Act and the violation of prohibitory orders u/s 144 CRPC.
For flouting visa norms, the Central Government has cancelled their Visa and blacklisted the foreigners who had arrived in India on a tourist visa and had illegally participated in the religious congregation at Banglewali Masjid Markaz, Hazrat Nizamuddin.
The above mentioned 915 accused people are presently staying at various High Court approved places in Delhi. None of them have been arrested in the case so far. All the foreign nationals who are accused in the case were served notices under section 41A CRPC and a charge sheet against them was filed in the Court without arrest.
