Honor 9X Pro

Chinese smartphone maker Honor has officially launched its Honor 9X Pro in India. The smartphone is the first handset that has been released in the Southeast Asian country without Google Mobile services and features Huawei‘s proprietar­y Appgallery.

Honor 9X Pro features a 6.59 inch FHD+ LCD display with a high screen to body ratio of 92 percent. The device is powered by Hisilicon’s 7nm Kirin 810 SOC alongside the ARM Mali-g52 MP6 GPU. Honor 9X Pro also features the new GPU Turbo 3.0 along with liquid cooling technology for better thermals during mobile gaming.

Honor has equipped with the smartphone­s to run the vanilla Android OS, skipping over Google services. This move arrives after Huawei was banned by the us government from partnering with American based firms. While many models from the Chinese tech giant are already available without Google services in europe, this is the first from Honor to launch with Huawei’s Appgallery in India. The Appgallery is Huawei’s version of the Play Store and is a part of the Huawei Mobile Services ecosystem.

The Honor 9X Pro houses 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. It also packs a large 4,000mah battery pack that can be charged via a USB Type C port.

For optics, the device features a triple camera setup with the primary sensor being a 48MP Sony IMX582 shooter. Furthermor­e, an 8MP super wide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor can also be found on the rear.

Arriving at the front, the smartphone has a full screen body and Honor has opted for a 16MP popup camera for selfies. It also supports Dual SIM, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and even a 3.5mm headphones jack.

In terms of optics, the Hot 9 series continues with its tradition of offering the best in class camera in its price category. While the Hot 9 comes with a 13MP AI quad rear camera with an f/1.8 large aperture and a triple LED Flash, the Hot 9 Pro features a 48MP AI quad rear camera with quad LED Flash along with an f/1.8 large aperture and 6P Optical lens. Both the smartphone­s are equipped with a 2MP macro lens that allows photo enthusiast­s to capture the smallest of the objects with greater detail and also feature an 8MP AI selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, dedicated LED flash, and multiple camera modes such as portrait and wide selfie. The camera hardware in the Hot 9 series is well supported by its intuitive Ai-based software capabiliti­es that enable high-quality, real-time picture editing.

The smartphone­s are backed by a massive 5,000mah battery with support for 10W fast charging tech. There’s also a fingerprin­t scanner at the back of the phones right next to the rear camera setup. The Hot 9 series also offers supports for Face unlock, Vowifi, dual VOLTE and OTG. It also comes with a ‘Hide App’ customisat­ion that allows you to hide your social and banking apps to minimise the risk of unauthoris­ed access.

The latest Infinix phones will be available in different colour options, including Ocean Wave and Violet. ■
