Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its Redmi note 9 in India, after the successful launch of its Redmi note 9 series not too long ago with the launch of Redmi note 9 Pro and Redmi note 9 Pro Max.

The latest addition is not only late but also quite different. The Redmi note 9 packs a Mediatek Helio G85 processor while both, the Redmi note 9 Pro and the Redmi note 9 Pro Max are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. Additionally, unlike the previous phones of the

Redmi note 9 series, the fingerprint sensor on note 9 is not on the side but instead, it is below the rear quad camera module and also packs a bigger battery.

Also, the Redmi note 9 was launched globally along with Redmi note 9 Pro and Redmi note 9s that have the same specs as the Redmi note 9 Pro Max and Redmi note 9 Pro that were launched last month in India.

The Redmi note 9 features a smaller display compared to the previous phones released in the Redmi note 9 series. It is a 6.53-inch display with FHD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone functions on Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 operating system based on Android 10. It is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio G85 SOC along with up to 4GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. The smartphone also has support for up to 128 GB external memory via the microsd slot.

The Redmi note 9 sports a quad rear camera set up with a 48MP (f/1.79) primary sensor along with an 8 MP(F/2.2) ultra-wide angle sensor, a 2MP(F/2.4) depth sensor, and a 2MP(F/2.4) macro lens. The smartphone features a hole-punch display with a 13MP selfie camera at the top-right corner.

The Redmi note 9 comes with a 5,020mah battery that comes with 18W fast charging support via the USB Type-c port. It also comes with other connectivity options such as Wi-fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It will be available in three color options of Forest Green, Polar White, and Midnight Grey.

The cheapest variant of Redmi note 9 with 3GB RAM and 64GB memory comes with a price tag of $199 (about Rs 15,000). The only other variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB memory is available for $249 (about Rs 18,700) on Amazon.in.n
