Xiaomi releases its largest smartphone­e

Chinese smartphone manufactur­er, Xiaomi, has recently launched the Mi Max in India, which is known to be the largest smartphone available at an affordable price. The device has a 16.35cm (6.44 inch) full HD (1080x1920) 342ppi display with an all-metal body and a fingerprin­t sensor on the rear panel.

The variant of the device available in India features 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt storage. It is powered by a Snapdragon 650SoC with a hybrid dual SIM configurat­ion, which enables users to place a microSIM card of up to 128GB in the secondary SIM card slot.

On the camera front, the device sports a 16 megapixel rear camera offering phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and LED, along with a 5 megapixel front camera with an 85 degree wide angle view. Both cameras have an f/2.0 aperture.

The connectivi­ty features of the phablet include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS/A-GPS with Wi-FI 802.11ac with Mimo. Backed with a massive 4850mAh battery, the device weighs 203 grams. It also sports an infrared emitter to act as a universal remote control, apart from an ambient light sensor, accelerome­ter, gyroscope, etc.
