NAS device from Western Digital launched in India

The digital storage solutions company, Western Digital, has launched the My Cloud EX2 Ultra two-bay network attached storage (NAS) system. The device is designed to automatica­lly sync contacts across computers, and easily share files and folders for creative profession­als who require multiple backup options.

Backed by a 1.3GHz dual core processor, the device has 1GB RAM, offering security features to help users protect and manage movies, photos, music and files. The management options of the device include RAID0, RAID1, JBOD and spanning modes. The data protection options include NAS to NAS, USB to cloud and LAN/WAN backup.

In order to easily configure it into other data protection modes, the device comes preconfigu­red with RAID1. To further expand the capacity of the My Cloud EX2 Ultra, it comes with support for USB 3.0, which is compatible with hard drives. It is also equipped with WD RED hard drives powered by NASware 3.0 technology, along with a dashboard for users to create accounts and monitor the storage. The WD My Cloud EX2 drives are available in three variants – 4TB, 6TB and 8TB, and are available via selected retail stores.
