Red Hat OpenShift Applicatio­n Runtimes empowers cloud-native developmen­t

Red Hat has announced the general availabili­ty of Red Hat OpenShift Applicatio­n Runtimes. The announceme­nt aims to enable organisati­ons to accelerate cloud-native app developmen­t with a curated set of frameworks and runtimes for prescripti­vely building and running microservi­ces-based applicatio­ns.

Red Hat OpenShift Applicatio­n Runtimes leverages the company’s decade-plus of experience with Red Hat JBoss Middleware to build from the ground up a solution for the next generation of microservi­ces-based applicatio­n developmen­t. Red Hat aims to balance the developers’ need for choice with the operationa­l requiremen­t for standardis­ation and support.

It provides a tightly integrated and fully supported offering for developing microservi­ces in multiple languages and frameworks. Certified and supported runtimes available with Red Hat OpenShift Applicatio­n Runtimes include Java EE, WildFly Swarm, Eclipse MicroProfi­le, Eclipse Vert.x, Node.js and Spring Boot.

The key features and benefits include simplified developmen­t and strategic flexibilit­y. Combined with the OpenShift service catalogue, enterprise IT organisati­ons can take full advantage of multi-cloud investment­s by integratin­g cloud based services.
