Multi-function stereo speaker from Portronics
Portronics, a prominent player in the portable digital products market, has recently launched its multi-function stereo speaker—the SoundDrum. The device comes with an inbuilt FM and multiple connectivity options. Enabled with Bluetooth 4.2BLE, the speaker offers 250 per cent faster speed, company sources claim, and much more security than Bluetooth 4.1.
It offers good sound output with two powerful 5W inbuilt speakers with amplifiers, even while playing FM.
Being modestly weighted and with rubber feet at its base, the SoundDrum is very stable even at the highest volume. Apart from being compatible with Bluetooth devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops or a computer, the speakers can be connected with nonBluetooth devices via a 3.5 mm aux. port or a pen drive.
The device offers the convenience of handsfree phone calls with the inbuilt microphone and speakerphone facility. With an International Protection rating of IPX6, the speakers are water- and dustresistant and can be carried easily due their compact design and low weight. The SoundDrum has an 1800mAh battery, which offers up to seven hours of non-stop music on a single charge (which takes about one to two hours).
