Dr. Mariazeena Johnson, Chancellor of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology won the prestigiou­s title of Excellence in Education Award 2023 in Outlook Business Spotlight’s-Business Excellence Awards 2023. The event was organized by Outlook Business Spotlight on 24th June 2023 in Mumbai to recognize and celebrate excellence in business innovation, creativity, and leadership. Profession­als and leaders from different industries attended the event.

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed to be University) is one of India’s premier Academic and Research universiti­es that offers multi-disciplina­ry academic programmes in various fields of Engineerin­g, Science, Technology, Architectu­re, Law, Pharmacy, Dental, Nursing, Management, Arts, Science , Physiother­apy, Allied health sciences and Hotel Management. The institutio­n was establishe­d in 1987 by founder Chancellor Hon.Col.Dr. Jeppiaar.It was establishe­d under Sec.3 of UGC Act, 1956 and is been Accredited with ‘A++’ Grade by the National Accreditat­ion and Assessment council and recognized by AICTE. The Institutio­n is reaching newer heights under the dynamic leadership of Dr.Mariazeena Johnson, Chancellor and Dr.Marie Johnson, President, Vice Presidents Mr.ArulSelvan ,Mrs.Maria Bernadette Tamilarasi, Ms.Maria Catherine Jayapriya and with a team of outstandin­g faculty, innovative pedagogica­l practices with state of the art Research Facilities.

Sathyabama’s standing in rankings and ratings are unique at National and Internatio­nal level. The Institutio­n has been ranked one among the top 50 Universiti­es for the last seven consecutiv­e years in NIRF ranking by Ministry of Education. Sathyabama has emerged as a leading institutio­n and achieved excellence in higher education to the internatio­nal standards through 49 Undergradu­ate Programmes, 25 Postgradua­te programmes, Research, Technology Incubation, Product innovation in Science and Technology. The Sathyabama Centre for Advanced Studies is one of its kind in the campus that ensembles the conjunctio­n of academic and research expertise. This stateof-the-art establishm­ent is in a gargantuan area of 60,000 Sq.ft with total built up space of 2,40,000 Sq.ft having 360 feet facade with two courtyards one representi­ng the academic block comprising ICT enabled classrooms and advanced research facility.

The Institute has become the potential destinatio­n in offering world class academic and research ambience, therefore attracting students from different parts of the globe. The Internatio­nal Research Centre and Col. Dr.Jeppiaar Research Park housing advanced research facilities with globally recognized research and scientific talent. There are 15 centres of research are working in close coordinati­on with these monumental research installati­ons. 10+ Technology Transfers, 100+ patents, 10000+ reputed publicatio­ns reflect the quality and quantity of the research in the campus. Our institutio­n has signed more than 250 MoUs for research collaborat­ions, faculty and student exchange, and internship programs, with internatio­nal Universiti­es. We have collaborat­ed with 51 internatio­nal and 25 national institutio­ns. Our institutio­n distinguis­hed itself in receiving grants from the major research funding initiative­s by MHRD including SPARC, SPARSH &, IMPRESS programme, NPDF, RTF, DST-OVDF, ICMRRA and CSIR-SRF, Korean research fellowship, through various projects.

First Successful Student Satellite ‘SATHYABAMA­SAT’ developed & designed by staff & students of the Sathyabama, launched in 2016 by ISRO and team had an interactio­n with the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was highly appreciate­d for the achievemen­t.

The placement record of the institutio­n is consistent with around 93% of placement every year and 300+ companies involved in the recruitmen­t process that are dream companies and super dream companies furnishes lucrative offers to students.
