eDare system is a business process automation package that automates business process of Anti Adulterati­on Cell of IOC

Functional­ity & Features: This system is used in conducting surprise inspection­s on Retail Outlets/ LPG Distributo­rs/ other consumers as per guidelines issued by Ministry of Petroleum F Natural Gas (MOPFNG), Govt of India. Petrol Pumps/LPG Agencies are required to conduct business as per directions set by respective oil companies and ministry and serious deviations may lead to terminatio­n of petrol pump/ LPG gas agency. Other areas of usage include reporting to concerned functions for any discrepanc­y observed during inspection, compliance report submission by the concerned functional department (Managing Petrol Pumps/LPG Gas Agencies) on action taken against errant dealer/distributo­r, and LAB samples submission and reporting. This system is also used to evaluate performanc­e of inspection officer, and use reports for future planning.

Technology used: Java using Struts2 Framework for Business Logic developmen­t, JSP for web Pages, jQuery for Scripting Purposes, Blueprint as a CSS Framework, SVN for project Versioning, Oracle Database.

USP: Project like these are critical in bringing transparen­cy in managing adulterati­on free oil distributi­on.

Impact: Being an internal process improvemen­t system no financial impact analysis was done, in spite of this there has been enhanced efficiency and much needed transparen­cy post implementa­tion.

Overall, the importance of such a system can’t be undermined for oil companies. However, from a technical stand-point, it’s a routine business process automation.
