Leeco Le 2

-

An elegant device with great specs and performance

Le 2 is another smartphone from the Chinese giant LeTV which is now known as LeEco. Its first two phones, 1S and LeEco 1S, were no different in terms of design, but Le 2 has been designed refreshingly different.

Large screen and good display: Even with a 5.5inch display, the smartphone fits quite comfortably in hands and again there are very thin bezels. The screen has 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and a PPI of 403 density. The IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen doesn’t attract scratches but smudges are clearly visible. The display is sharp and produces rich and vibrant colors. The screen is bright enough to be used in direct sunlight, however it has just a155 lux brightness level which is low. You can enjoy videos and games as well as share the screen with your friends and family as it has great viewing angles.

Glossy metal body: Like previous smartphones, this one also has metal body painted in gold, silver and grey. We received the gold version for review, which looks premium and feels great with curves at both sides. The gold painted body is smudge proof and rarely attracts scratches. The fingerprint sensor is placed below the camera with mirror finish but attracts smudges.

Decent image quality: At the rear, it is equipped with a 16 MP Pixel master camera with dual-tone flash to capture decent quality images in both day and night. It clicks high-resolution photos with an aperture of f/2.0. You can record decent quality videos at a 4K resolution as well. It produces sharp and vivid images with natural colors. The camera OS has various modes and options to customize your photography experience with it. At the front, it has an 8 Mp shooter to click selfies. This also produces good quality images.

Runs smoothly without any lag: Le Eco Le 2 is packed with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 processor clocking at 1.8 GHz Processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow version 6.0 which is wrapped in EUI 5.6. The customised UI is quite elegant and simple to use. During the test, we used the phone for more than three weeks and the performance was without glitches or lag. We also played different high-end graphics intensive games such as Asphalt 8 Airborne, Mortal Combat X etc. and there was no visible performance lag.

It comes with 32 GB of internal storage but you can’t further extend the memory as it doesn’t support microSD. It comes with type C port for charging and earpiece connectivity, so some people may miss the 3.5 mm jack. Type C port helps to charge PRICE: PERFORMANCE: FEATURES: the device quickly and offers better transfer rate in comparison to microUSB. But as the single port serves both charging and headphone connectivity so you can’t use them simultaneously.

Good battery that stays for a day: The Le 2 is backed by 3000 mAh battery that can last for the entire day or even higher depending on your usage. We used the phone for more than a day with usual calls, Internet browsing, playing games, watching videos, etc. In our video loop test it lasted for 6 hours and 49 minutes playing video over Wi-Fi with full brightness and volume.

Bottom line: At 12k, this is one of the best devices having decent features and quality performance.
