Muvo 2 offers a solid sound quality compared to other speakers in its range and lasts long enough to let you party all night long — Sidharth Shekhar

Creative has introduced Muvo 2 with a couple of key improvements and in my opinion, it has the potential to give its competitors a run for their money in terms of cost and sound.

Muvo 2 is water resistant and will allow you play music via Bluetooth, Micro SD, Aux in, and USB. We received a black color review unit of Creative’s MUVO 2 Bluetooth speaker, which is priced at around Rs. 8,438.00 and after extensive testing here’s the complete review.

Design: Creative has maintained a rigid design structure with most of its Bluetooth speaker range and Muvo 2 is no different. Creative MUVO 2 is very light (340 grams) and has a simple rectangle box-type design. On top, you’ll see six buttons (left to right): Power, Bluetooth, Mode, Volume Down, Volume Up, and Play/Pause. Above those buttons are two LED lights and a mic in between them. The left side has two large holes to strap the speaker. On the back, there is a flap that you can peel back to access the Aux port, charging port and micro SD port.

The new MUVO 2 speaker can also act as an independent music player, thanks to the microSD card slot on the back. This feature makes it more portable than many Bluetooth speakers out there and you just need to load your music library into the card to enjoy music anywhere. The speaker supports playing lossless FLAC and WAV files. MUVO2 is dust- and water-resistant with an IP66 rating and it can easily endure light rain or water splashes. The exterior is made of plastic with a soft-touch finish all over and the front grille is made of aluminum. Muvo 2 is powered by a 2,200 mAh Li-ion battery and the company claims that it lasts for 10 hours after a single charge.

Audio quality: Bluetooth speakers are often more focused on portability and tend to compromise on the sound quality. However, a great sound is essential for any speaker and MUVO 2 scores perfectly in terms of portability and audio quality. Equipped with a big passive bass radiator at the center and 2 full-range drivers on both sides, Muvo 2 has the best sound quality in its range. We tested the speaker in different cases and MUVO 2 came out as a winner in most. If you are listening to music in your room, the MUVO 2 can fill the entire area with immense clarity and detail in voice and bass. We played many genres and different file formats like MP3, WMA, WAV, and FLAC. The audio output depends on the file and we received the best listening experience while playing FLAC.

We played live soundtrack album, The Song Remains the Same, by the English rock band Led Zeppelin in FLAC format and the audio quality was stunning. If you are looking for a more powerful sound then pair two MUVO 2 speakers together using Wireless Link technology for stereo quality sound. You can also take your calls off your smartphone wirelessly via Bluetooth and the quality is just fine.

Battery: The MUVO 2 uses a microUSB charger, which keeps the speaker on while charging. In our tests, Creative MUVO 2 was able to run for 7-8 hours straight while with a USB and microSD, it provided 10 hours of playback.

Verdict: Muvo 2 offers a solid sound quality compared to other speakers in its range and lasts long enough to let you party all night long. This is among the best-sounding Bluetooth speakers for the size, and we highly recommend this product.

Bottomline: I am pretty happy with the overall performance of Creative Muvo 2 and I really liked the microSD support which increases its overall usability.
