In­tex Tech­nolo­gies is the largest man­u­fac­turer of mul­ti­me­dia speak­ers in the coun­try. The 86,400sqft plant in Jammu has touched the mile­stone with a pro­duc­tion vol­ume of 1.5Mil­lion an­nu­ally and 100K+ units per month. PC Quest team vis­ited In­tex plant in Jammu where var­ied mul­ti­me­dia speak­ers are man­u­fac­tured by 600 work­ers.

Be­side Jammu fa­cil­ity, In­tex has 4 more plants— Baddi in HP (1), Noida (3). In­tex has an over­all man­u­fac­tur­ing ca­pac­ity of 112 mil­lion units from across five plants.

The com­pany is con­tin­u­ously in­creas­ing do­mes­tic man­u­fac­tur­ing ca­pac­ity with its first plant set-up in 2004 in Jammu. The speak­ers man­u­fac­tured here un­dergo var­i­ous tests which in­clude: • Com­puter Mul­ti­me­dia Speaker Test & Re­li­a­bil­ity (CLIO) • IQC • On-Line Test­ing • OQC • Age­ing Cham­ber • Vi­bra­tion Test • Heat­ing Test In 2016 & 17, In­tex de­vel­oped 100W Tower Model Speaker, Green Rohs Pack­ag­ing and made SMD Am­pli­fier PCBs. Also, Con­verted all ex­ist­ing mod­els with BT con­nec­tiv­ity and in­dige­nous-built BT mod­ule. In­tex is also work­ing on new tech in­no­va­tions, in com­ing time it is plan­ning to bring Wi-Fi con­nec­tiv­ity mul­ti­me­dia sys­tem; Speak­ers with mos­quito re­pel­lent, TFT LCD dis­play MP5 in­tro­duc­tion in Tower Speaker, So­lar pow­ered 2.0/201 MMS and LED TV base mounted 2.1 sleek home the­ater sys­tem.

Apart from mul­ti­me­dia speak­ers, In­tex is also into con­sumer durables and mo­bile phones also mainly fo­cused on the mar­kets of tier2 cities.

In­tex also has a lab where all the prod­ucts are tested in Okhla, Delhi. The com­pany is also ex­pand­ing team in terms of An­droid ar­chi­tects as it is fo­cus­ing on wire­less in­no­va­tions. Jammu plant has 4 as­sem­bly lines where peo­ple work in sin­gle shift op­er­a­tions which can ex­panded to dou­ble shift.

ing pro­grams for skilling. The In­tex plant has been a steady source of jobs for many Jammu lo­calites, es­pe­cially women, for a long time now.
