Signify (formerly known as Philips Lighting) brings a smart LED bulb that can be operated using a mobile app or voice assistants including Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa. The Philips Smart Wi-Fi’ LED Bulb works on the WiZ technology platform.

Setup

Like other LED bulbs, just install it in your room and switch on the power. Now install the WiZ app on your smartphone or tablet and connect to your home’s WiFi network. Now just follow the instructio­ns to connect your bulb with Wi-Fi. Once connected you can control the bulb with your smartphone or voice assistants.

Features

The Philips Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb lets you create the perfect mood for every moment. Choose from its millions of color options or use its preset themes or create special customized light settings. You can also tune your Philips Smart Wi-Fi Bulb to the perfect shade of white light, ranging from warm white to cool daylight to suit your daily tasks.

Using the WiZ app you can set up scenes, schedules, and “rhythms” (automated lighting transition­s designed for regular, daily use). The app dashboard you quick access to a virtual on/off switch, a nightlight mode, and two sliders: one for brightness and one for color temperatur­e.

Tap on the icon indicating the current white color temperatur­e to access color settings. You get access to plenty of colors and other preloaded lighting features. All Philips Smart Wi-Fi bulbs support Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri for voice control.

Retailers will need to prioritize automation that creates positive consumer experience­s rather than as a cost saving exercise, according to new research from the Capgemini Research Institute. The report, “Smart Stores – Rebooting the retail store through in-store automation,” which surveyed over 5,000 consumers and 500 retail executives across North America, Europe and Asia, found that a majority (59%) of consumers who have previously visited stores with automation said they would be willing to shift their in-store purchases from a retailer without automation technologi­es, to one that offers them, rising to 67% for 22-36 year-olds. Most consumers believe automation can help to solve pain points they experience in-store including long checkout queues (66%), difficulty in locating products (60%), and products being out of stock (56%).

This API uses Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology to provide real time text analysis and score/ measure the contextual emotional response to a product/ brand or a service. It enables customers to securely use the API for text analysis, including how a specific word was used in a given context. This new developmen­t will allow users to quickly detect sentiments expressed in company reviews, product surveys, social media posts, and other data sources to measure satisfacti­on and identify trends.
