Canon 600D or Panasonic Lumix G6?

-

I do photography as a hobby. Till now, I was using cell phone cameras and Sony Cybershot compact camera. Now, I want to take a leap forward with my skills. So, I have decided to go with the Canon 600D. But these days I have come across the mirrorless camera concept. I have watched many videos on YouTube so as to get a clear picture. I am really looking forward to the Panasonic Lumix G6 now.

Can you please tell me which will be a better choice – the Canon 600D or the Lumix G6 ? Or, is there any other camera that

you can suggest me ? My budget is around Rs, 40,000 - Rs. 45,000. Adarsh Gautam Both these cameras are capable of excellent results. You cannot go wrong with either. The Panasonic Lumix G6 is based on the Micro Four Thirds System and is lighter and easier to carry. Lenses too are lighter and less expensive (compared with those for the Canon 600D). The 600D offers a larger imaging sensor (22.3 x 14.9mm, as compared to 17.3 x 13mm for the G6) which will produce lesser digital noise, especially at higher ISO sensitivities. This does not mean that the G6 is noisy, but yes, at higher ISOs, the 600D will produce lesser noise. Personally, I believe that the user interface on the 600D is easier. The G6 can shoot at 7 frames per second at full resolution; the 600D does 3.7 fps! If your style of shooting requires higher frame rates, consider the G6. If you like to shoot in low light situations, consider the 600D. If you will shoot mainly in good light, and if your pictures are not likely to be too large (16 x 20 inches or larger), then it may not matter which system you choose. The best way is to first go through the features these cameras offer, find out more (from the user manual or the Internet) about the features that you are not conversant with, decide if those features are likely to improve your photography, and then make an informed decision.
