Though Wal-Mart is the world’s largest retail chain, Amazon.Com has topped the list, leaving behind Wal-Mart, in consumer electronic­s sales and is now eyeing the ‘Best Buy’ stores. Amazon. Com’s total consumer electronic­s sales increased 4.3% or $5.6 billion in 2015. Shenzen Dongzheng Optics (DZoptics) announced its first lens, the manual focus Kerlee 35mm f/1.2. This full frame SLR optic will be available for Canon FE, Nikon F, Pentax K, and Sony FE mounts. According to DZOptics, it is the world’s fastest full frame SLR 35mm lens. Canon has filed a patent for EF 1000mm f/5.6 IS DO lens. The year 2015 marked the 11th straight year atop the list of Japan-based companies awarded with US patents. Though many of these patented products may not have a chance to see the daylight, with around 4,134 total patents, Canon stood right behind IBM on the list whereas Samsung ranked third worldwide. Fujifilm North America announced the new Instax Share SP-2 camera, that allows the user to print out the best credit-card sized smartphone pictures, faster than ever, in high quality. Users can also print the images from their Instagram or Facebook account simply by transferri­ng the shots from their apps to SP-2 via Wi-Fi connection. OnePlus teamed up with virtual reality specialist­s, AntVR, to build 30,000 OnePlus Loop VR headsets and will give them away on first-come, firstserve bases. The move is simlar to what the company did in the previous year with its Google Cardboard-style VR viewers, which were designed for use during a special VR launch event for the OnePlus 2 smartphone.
